Class Description
This class is designed to encourage personal artistic development across all skill levels. This course will explore a variety of artistic processes, techniques, and materials. Projects will include drawing, painting, printmaking, three-dimensional design, and some digital art. Students will be asked to create artwork that will reflect both personal aesthetics in addition to cultural and historical contexts.
Expectations
I ask that you come into the class with an open mind and a sense of excitement for learning how to express yourself as an artist. Developing your artistic skills is about your sense of curiosity and what you learn from the creative process. To do this, you must come to class with a positive attitude and an open mind for learning and exploration.
Every student will be required to exhibit at least two art pieces in the end-of-year art show.
Goals
By the end of the year, the student will develop and refine a body of design work that constitutes a secondary education level professional visual art portfolio that can be utilized to set them apart for higher-level visual art schools.
